Nurture

Forest Oak is a Nurturing School.

As shared in our ethos and values page, we aim to create a happy and secure learning environment at Forest Oak. We promote a pro-active relationship with all members of our school community to encourage mutual respect and, in doing so; strive to establish a genuine collaborative relationship to the benefit of all concerned. This is reflected in our school values.

For our children, every effort is made to ensure that they benefit from a dynamic, innovative and safe environment that is responsive to their changing needs.

We recognise that by prioritising the nurture of the whole child through a holistic culture, curriculum and approach centred around the six principles of nurture our children will flourish, thrive and achieve.

Nurturing Solihull

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council commissioned the National Nurturing Schools Programme to 54 schools across the borough, utilising their Delivering Better Value in SEND grant from the Department of Education. Forest Oak felt that this programme, along with our already embedded SMILE approach, would be the perfect combination to improve our offer as a nurturing establishment to everyone involved in our community.

We have adopted the six principles of Nurture, which are:
